Texas mother faces trial over drunken ex-husband custody ride
In Hays County a 34 year old Wimberley mother is indicted on two counts each of injury to a child and endangering a child for allowing her two daughters to ride with their intoxicated father Gregory Cook after breakfast at Cypress Creek Cafe. The missing children were found dead three days later in a submerged car. Draper's defense argues she was unaware of Cook's intoxication and would not have let the children ride with him if she had known.

In Caldwell County Lockhart exchange approved adding San Marcos to Extended Local Calling with 75 percent support. Seven other exchanges failed to join. Fentress passed all nine additions. Niederwald mayor Fern Howze credited the move as a boon for Fentress phone customers noting monthly rates of 3.50 for home and 7.00 for business service.

Cypress Creek Church hosts Project Angel Tree with a tree of names and wishes tied to children who have one parent in prison.
