Consultant Chuck McKinney termed the workshop a success after a Monday presentation to Hays County Commissioners on results titled Hays County The next step. Goals were set for 2025 focusing on quality of life and methods of achievement, while weak planning links like communication and cooperation were identified. Two Juvenile Detention Center plans were discarded as unaffordable, and only Precinct 3 Commissioner Craig Payne supported continuing with the project amid cost overruns.
