WISD eyes new high school for Wimberley area
About 100 residents attended a Tuesday Danforth campus briefing on a redesigned proposed high school. Board President Laurel Gold outlined Wimberley’s history from Bowen School in 1950 to forming its own district in 1986, noting Danforth’s crowding and the need for a larger campus as the district now serves 595 students in a building for 450.

Mountain Crest water system sale eyed by Woodcreek council
Woodcreek officials in a regular City Council meeting expressed interest in purchasing the water and wastewater utilities serving Phase 1. Mayor Jeannine Pool cited Certificates of Need and Necessity held by Woodcreek Development and noted TNRCC letters on a July inspection finding no proof of complaints about water pressure or odor. The sewage plant has 333 connections near capacity, with expansion plans triggered at 75 percent and 90 percent capacity. The water system has 500 connections and capacity for 1,000. Pool said Woodcreek Development granted city first refusal if they decide to sell.
