History of Wimberley Mail Service and Postmaster Tales
Dorothy Kerbow recounts 1890s Wimberley mail routes with daily morning departures and afternoon arrivals, no boxes or rural delivery, stamps costing a penny, and Postmaster led distribution. The piece notes Billy Henson and Mark Sherman, Christmas Eve drink, burial in the Henson plot, and contrasts old rates with 19th and 20th century changes in prepaid postage, air stamps, and notable philatelic anecdotes.
