Two county hopefuls and a fence crew faced a crash at the Five Acres Road entrance to Rocky River Ranch near Sleepy Hollow. A passerby found occupants trapped as a car flipped, a late night rescue followed, no fire, but repairs and renewed caution.
In 1963 Cecil Breed was elected Commander and officers were chosen as the Camp Ben McCulloch Annual Reunion replaced the joint reunion with Camp Jennie Burleson. Descendants gained voting rights in 1967, quorum returned, and officers were re elected. Crowds dwindled in recent years but the camp remains.
Wimberley girl Sue Haney named Miss South Texas 1969 after a July 4 Seguin pageant. Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert Haney, she graduates co valedictorian from San Marcos High School and plans to study business administration at SWSTC. She will compete in Miss Texas 1969 and possibly Miss America 1970.
