Fischer Store Chronicle and Family Post Office Legacy
A chronicle of the Fischer family in Fischerdale Texas from 1875 to 1973 highlights a one hundred year store and post office era. It notes Herman Fischer Sr and Jr and Willie Eddie and Gertrude Fischer offering groceries feeds and services while the post office operation persisted. Anecdotes recount carolers visiting the store and a freight team aiding displays. The town changed name to Fischer Texas in 1950 and a future note mentions a school bowling alley and finale.
