The Fischer Area Through Time 1900 to 1940
Settlers moved into Fischer by 1900 as free range was fenced and new land grants created. Cattle breeds improved while sheep and goats entered the range by 1930. Fischer hosted an annual rodeo before 1940 and once had a polo field. In 1913 W O Fischer brought a Ford Model T touring car. Holiday customs featured cedar trees with apples oranges cookies and candy and fruit cakes for desserts. Presents were practical with small toys and 25 cents for Christmas, though allowances varied within families.
