Lonesome Dove General Store Finds Texas Ranch Niche

Lonesome Dove General Store sits off I-37 Loop 1604 between Pleasanton and San Antonio offering hardware, tack, seed, feed, ranch lumber and trailers. Owners Hugh and Molly Long run cattle on 500 acres nearby. Boo Ault aids as assistant manager. The shop also has a wood yard selling mesquite and oak, a cozy bull chat area, Mary Jane's molasses candy, and an auto shop next to Conoco. Open 7 am–7 pm weekdays and 7 am–5 pm weekends.

Floresville High students train for child care careers

Floresville High School students in the Early Childhood Professions classes gain hands on training and theory to prepare for pediatric medicine nursing dentistry teaching and child care roles. An agreement with San Antonio College lets them earn college hours and high school credit simultaneously reducing time effort and cost while preparing for entry level child care jobs or further degrees in Child Development.
