School appeals for break on La Vernia water fees
LA VERNIA Concern over high water and sewer hookup charges for a new primary school led Superintendent Steve Murray and Assistant Superintendent James Carrillo to ask the city council to lower the $22,400 fee calculated by a Texas Natural Resource Conservation Commission formula. They argued the charge is excessive and not fair to city residents, and council members tabled the matter to next month for further discussion.
