Juvenile to face adult trial in nursing home case
A LaVernia teen charged with aggravated sexual assault at Country Care Manor will be tried as an adult after the Wilson County juvenile court waived jurisdiction. Charles Travis Moorhead, 16, was certified by Visiting District Court Judge Joe Briscoe to stand trial in the 81st Judicial District Court following four hours of testimony. Moorhead, employed at the nursing home, is accused of having intercourse with an 82-year-old Alzheimer's patient. He was released on a $10 000 bond.
