Clyde O Grater will run the Wilmette bathing beach opening Saturday June 13 with four regular and two extra guards. Minnie Bachman heads the beach matron team, replacing Belle Hilton, while Jean Paddock Finney remains in the office. Sloop Lark Capsizes Off Grosse Pointe Light Rescue
Six rescued after their 22 foot sloop Lark capsized a mile off Grosse Pointe light Evanston. James B. Stewart skipper of Sahara led rescue by cruiser. survivors include Warren Young and five Evanston residents. Coast Guard saved two men from a drifting outboard four miles off Wilmette. Four aboard Mary Louis towed into Great Lakes Harbor after distress near Lake Forest.

Post Office to Begin Bonus Bond Distribution in June

Wilmette Police Offer First Aid Course With Red Cross
The Wilmette police in cooperation with Kenilworth Winnetka and Glencoe police departments and the American Red Cross offer a first aid course open to police firemen and police reserves. The first class met Wednesday June 10 at 2 pm at the Wilmette village hall and will run eight consecutive weeks. Those who enroll and miss no more than one class will receive a diploma upon completion.
