Steal 1500 Golf Balls From Local Practice Course

Penalty for Tax Delinquencies to Begin September 1
Sanborn Hale town ship collector reports about $60 000 of the 1931 second installment paid in the ten days to Aug 19. The September 1 start date brings a 1 percent monthly penalty. payments should go to the county treasurer in Chicago. Some taxpayers have not paid the first installment and may pay both installments plus a 5 percent penalty on the first. No information on 1932 taxes yet.

Village weighs two routes for new 24 inch water main
President C P Dobbs said Elmwood avenue is not a definite route for the 24 inch water main from the pumping station to Ridge and Lake avenues. The village applied for funds with Elmwood in the parkway but another direct route is under review to cut pumping costs. No trees will be removed.

Police Warn Residents of Bicycle Thievery
Wilmette police report two bicycles stolen on Tuesday. One from 623 Lake Avenue yard and another from 722 Ridge Avenue playground belonging to a boy named Gale.
