Williston History Notes 1898 Highlights and Military Move
The Graphic recalls Williston years ago with town leadership, railroad patent filing, and a seven column edition planned. It mentions the 10th Cavalry band, Odd Fellowship anniversary at Fort Buford Lodge, bridge repairs on the Little Muddy, and a murder case in Grinnell where the defendant was discharged after a two day exam with States Attorney Stewart leading the prosecution. About 600 troops of the 10th Cavalry passed east over the Great Northern, reviving memories of Buford garrison days.
