Overland Trip to North Dakota Impresses Morristown Travelers

Mr Donaldson, with interests in Faribault and a Morristown farm, toured North Dakota by Hudson 40. They departed for Sidney at 10 am Thursday and plan to return in a week or ten days. They praised Williston area and report muddy roads but good spirits.

Young bandit captured here in North Dakota after robbery

Delbert Nelson age 19 robbed Great Northern night agent Jos Ford at Devils Lake collecting $497.79 then fled spending money on his sweetheart. Great Northern Detective Frank Hogan tracked him to Williston and Springbrook, aided by Dewey Osborne. Nelson was finally located and captured after a spree of purchases including clothes and a motorcycle.

Corner Stone Laying for New Congregational Church

Everett Washington September 22 A double wreck on the Great Northern eastbound Overland No 4 near Mokiltean left seven injured one seriously. Westbound Overland No 3 crashed into wreckage on Betts tracks worsening the incident.

Williston man draws in Fort Peck land lottery

Charles A. Fero of Williston North Dakota drew number 10 in the Fort Peck land lottery opening at Glasgow Montana. Other local registrants drawing high numbers included Mrs M J Heinbaugh O J Reed O B Ayers and C E Johnson. Samuel A Grow of Harmond Indiana won first choice with 40299 registrations leading the list and Hazel Richardson of Great Falls drew fifteenth. The drawing moved indoors at the Orpheum theater due to threatening weather and is expected to complete by Thursday with about 460 claims drawn.

Motorcycle Swindle Targets Newspapers Across North Dakota

A nationwide scam defrauded small newspapers with an ad offering 1913 motorcycles and motor boats at bargain prices. The scheme centered on The Continental Motorcycle and Boat Company run by Robert E. Gordon of Trenton Michigan. Orders paid in advance totaled tens of thousands, none fulfilled, Gordon vanished, and post offices seek recovery for victims.

Horses Found in Canada Report of Duff Theft and Repatriation

Canadian authorities uncovered about 30 horses at the Duff ranch near Halbrite Saskatchewan tied to the Missouri River region thefts. Duff, jailed in Canada, confessed and received a three year sentence. twelve horses were returned to local owners after a Canada trip. Norman E.
