In Underwood North Dakota at 2 am ten masked men on horseback dynamited the Security State bank and First State bank, stealing about 12000 dollars. Two witnesses sheltered and could not raise alarm, robbers remained two hours, no shots fired, town businesses left untouched, and Bismarck banks wired funds to reopen. Sherman Sheriff Gradin and three passersby pursued. banks insured against losses. Boldest robbery in the area since earlier years.

Superintendent Schultz reports rapid progress on the city water works with about 2000 feet of pipe laid. Prosperous farmer E C Hugunin, who proved up before the U S Land Office, was injured Monday morning while assisting George Bruegger with a safe. A plank slipped as the safe passed through a door jam, tearing flesh from his right finger and removing the nail. Medical dressing was applied, with possible further surgery uncertain.
