Excursion Boat Delayed By Strong Wind And Muddy Banks
The party from Stevens steam boat on the Sun day river trip returned near 11 PM after heavy wind and current hampered progress. At Baker's ferry coal was loaded and the up stream run failed to gain steam causing the boat to run aground near the Little Muddy. Passengers walked ashore after the gang plank was lowered while rescuers attempted to restart the engine. A flue issue was later noted by Mr Stevens.
