John Cole aged 36 was thrown from a horse causing a fractured skull and died at a Bismarck hospital. William H. Martell, convicted in Grand Forks eight years ago of murder, died in the Bismarck state penitentiary from paralysis. Various residents were seen around town including Al Maderson transacting business in Alexander, Elbert Collings heading to Ray for threshing, and families like Mr. and Mrs. Roy Brown welcoming a baby boy. Local visits include Anna Ackerman and Mrs. Vizina from Chicago, Roy Wheeler in Williston, and Chas. Tappin at the White House. Mrs. Wm. Leeper of Bainville Montana departed last week for her new home in Everett Washington after visiting with Mr. and Mrs. N. F. Holland for two weeks. Mrs. Holland saw her as far as Havre Montana where she visited friends.

Teachers Examination Set For November 9 and 10 In Williston

The next regular teachers examination will be held November 9 and 10 at the Williston courthouse. The program lists readings, pedagogy, physiology, US History, optional first grade subjects, psychology, and certificates, with exams starting promptly at 8:30 a.m. Applicants should bring pen and ink. Harkness Family Relocates to Appleton for Winter

East for winter H C Harkness and family move from the city to Appleton Minnesota for the season. Mrs Harkness and three children will stay in Appleton while Mr Harkness works at a Minneapolis clothing house through the winter months.
