Republican Rally Tuesday Evening

A Republican Rally will be held in the court room next Tuesday evening at eight o'clock. Speakers include Hon. H. R. Turner of Fargo and Gen. E. A. Williams of Bismarck. Williams, Surveyor General, led irrigation work and chaired the James town Republican convention. Local party addresses and a musical program are planned.

Coal Shute Tragedy Claims EighteenYearOld Boy

Myron Haines an eighteen year old Great Northern employee died Friday afternoon after being crushed between a coal shed shute and the engine cab. He was treated at the depot and hospital but the injuries proved fatal. His family lived in Mabel Minnesota with an uncle in Hesper North Dakota attending the burial.

Elevator manager Pope near asphyxiation in gasoline fumes

Pope, manager of the new elevator, had a close call Friday afternoon when he became asphyxiated from gasoline fumes while at his desk. He noticed a worsening sensation and acted quickly to seek fresh air and safety precautions.

Heffernan Takes Ownership of R. H. Styles Ranch Near Williston

A recent deal transfers ownership of the R. H. Styles stock farm to James Heffernan. The ranch sits about twenty miles east of Williston and is described as one of the best stock farms in the area.

Will Handle Coal and Wood Yard Opens in City

H. V. Smith announces a new coal and wood yard to begin taking orders Monday with offices at present with E. C. Carney. He has secured the Ole Bryn mine output for the coming winter and will carry lignite and hard coal, plus dry split wood, to meet local demand.

Williston to Install Coal and Wood Office for Winter Fuel

A coal and wood office will be established in Williston at a suitable site, with sheds erected and a good coal supply in place. Residents will be able to phone in coal orders and have them promptly filled, ensuring dry fuel during the coming winter.

Town Sites Are Contested In Fort Berthold Reservation

A wave of land contests targets townsites on the old Fort Berthold Indian Reservation led by F A Powers and twelve Towner residents. Attorney M A Brennan of Devils Lake serves the group, alleging Interior errors allowed non entry entries. Contested towns include Ross Stanley Shaffer Plaxa Palermo and Donnybrook with related desert entries timber and stone claims also filed in Fort Berthold and Minot.
