The Williams County Teachers Institute drew strong enrollments with 1444 teachers by Wednesday from one and two room schools, plus 190 in larger districts. Miss Eula Miller led enrollment and sessions on systematized primary work while Miss Palmer and Miss Peterson coordinated programs including temperance, anti tubercular efforts, and demonstrations with city school pupils. A reception for about 300 attendees preceded talks by Miss Roxby and Rev. Monnon, Batten, and music by several soloists.

Summer Capitol on Jersey Shore
Washington Oct 14 President Wilson may not return to Cornish New Hampshire next summer. He is considering transferring the summer capital to the New Jersey shore. He has used Winston Churchill's Cornish residence annually since becoming president. A committee headed by Representative Scully of New Jersey will meet him to urge selection of a New Jersey coast residence for next summer to be closer to policy matters and public sentiment.

The Northwestern District Medical Society held its first history making meeting at this place. Out of town attendees included Dr. Norris of Westby Dr. Brigham of Stanley Dr. Drake of Mondak Dr. Chapman of Alexander and others from Minot and nearby towns. The group convened in the City Library auditorium with papers on surgical association eye strains health and hospital education. Dr. Distad missed his tuberculosis paper due to a cold. The Crile based paper by Dr. Skovholt sparked lively discussion, with a banquet at the Great Northern Cafe and a move to organize a Williston district society. Dr. Trainor was elected president for the year, with Mac Manus treasurer and others filling posts. counselor election postponed to January 1916. Credit given to out-of-town attendees, especially Dr. Norris who traveled 60 miles.
