German Lutheran Service at Golden Hill School House

Golden Hill community notes that German Lutheran services will be held Sunday at the Golden Hill school house. Local social items include Ford and Albert Hintz visiting Willis ton, Peter Ranville and Annie Hemp visiting friends, and bachelor Martin Sansen marrying on Oct 5 with good wishes from the community. The school teacher arrived this week and flax on the Golden Hill farm was harvested well. Market Day in Williston drew strong local attendance as Carlson visited Rasmussen on Sunday.

Valley road work and local visits in Rose Valley area

In Rose Valley, McAllister and partners worked last week on Jones cut to improve the road to Williston. Local residents including Mrs. Jennie McAllister and Nannie Marcum visited Mrs. Thornton. The Burch family moved into Hiram Simmons’s former house. Earl Thornton, Jack Lambert, John Noggle and others visited family over the weekend.

Mr and Mrs A Grimm hosted a dance at home on Saturday. Tom Chamberlain moved Brown homestead buildings westward last Saturday, and R E Dillree did the same with his farm buildings on Tuesday. Albert MacIntosh bought a horse and buggy from M Brown of Williston. William Kameath visited with Ber ton Brown. Doc Zahr of Zahl ND visited the Mormon store Sunday. Hefty and Hans Overland were guests in Williston Monday and Tuesday. E A Allen and wife called on Ada B Smith Sunday evening. A small addition is under construction at the Freeman school this week.

Nels Lundell builds an addition to his house and Orin Hamilton moves his family near the schoolhouse. Rudolph and Mrs Rieder visit Leonard and Mrs Rieder. Chas West nears completion of a new residence. Mr and Mrs Schroeder of Epping visit the Ekebergs. Green and Arnt from Wild Rose visit O C Ekeberg. Herbert Hall and family travel from Max to visit cousins the Rieders and Hamiltons. A social gathering at Will Hamiltons ended with dancing and refreshments. All Garden Valley residents attended and enjoyed an excellent time.

A prairie fire southwest of here damaged Bert Biggs hay Ezepal Evans barn and hay and Jim Clarke shack with oats. Last Saturday evening Michel F Miller’s home welcomed three baby girls. Ellis Evans nears plastered house completion. A C Long and Wm Potter visited Williston on business. Jens Pebble’s dance drew a good crowd. Clarence Kerkendall heads to St Paul for winter. Dave Willard builds a large barn. Mr Gibson and Mr Peters of Ohio visit to see their children Alvin and family. Aerated milk advertised with phone number 143-3.
