Committed death by own action near city

Joseph Adams a 38 year old bachelor farmer living ten miles west of the city shot himself using a 32 rifle and 22 pistol last Wednesday afternoon. He believed a coming clash between Masons and Catholics would occur and chose to die. He died from both wounds, was found with minimal clothing, and was buried at Painted Woods cemetery. He left three brothers and three sisters.

Bud Jackson pitched a strong start striking out nine and allowing one hit as the Home Diamonds defeated Palermo 11 to 1. The Palermo pitcher fared worse, giving up 12 hits. Williston High prepares for June commencement at Opera House

Williston High School to hold graduation exercises Friday evening June 1 at 7:30 pm in the Opera House. Three orations by graduates, music by students, and an address by Hon. J. M. Devine. Admission free. Program includes songs, solos, band selections, diplomas, and a valedictory by Muth Wolcott.

Ferry Boat Breaks Loose Amid High Water and Wind

A Perry ferry owned by Douglas Bell two miles upriver broke loose last Saturday and drifted down to Williston due to high water and strong winds. The vessel crossed at an angle to the current and could not be righted. A Buford steamer was sent to tow it back to its berth.
