Graduation exercises at Williston High School in the Opera house featured four graduates. Rev. J A Lumley gave the invocation, Frank Gordon delivered the Panama Canal oration, and Hon J M Devine of Minot gave the address. Diplomas were awarded with one student ill and absent, Miss Minda Stutrud, yet she received her diploma through a sister.

Squatters gain 90 days to settle on surveyed lands
Washington May 31 The general land office commissioners grant 90 days preference rights to squatters on land bordering Fort Berthold Indian reserve. The land was pre survey and then surveyed, approved, and opened to settlement. This decision lets settlers retain their homesteads now valuable due to improvements.

Narrow Escape in Runaway Near Broad Street
John Brant, driving for John Heffernan, narrowly avoided injury in a Monday forenoon runaway. While east on Broad Street after Main, a horse-drawn load dragged the whippletree, Brant was knocked from the load and fell between the horses and tug, hanging there momentarily before escape.

The comptroller of the currency approves Citizens' State Bank of Williston North Carolina to convert into a national bank to be named The Second National Bank of Williston with capital $50,000.
