The Williston High school annual commencement program is planned for Friday evening at Gates Opera House starting at 8 30. A large crowd is expected as an excellent program is prepared. The listing of the evening’s program follows.

The Williston band serenaded John Bruegger at his North Main Street home on the 21st anniversary of his city business career. About thirty-five guests attended a joyous gathering. Bruegger, band president, has provided a practice room and financial support, and the band gave him a solid gold K P watch charm as thanks.

Mandamus Rules In North Dakota Ballot Petitions

Democrats in Minot file for county offices and seek to have petitions received without filing fees. Judge Goss ruled the fee law unconstitutional, ordering the county auditor to accept petitions. Most candidates paid the fee under protest. all collected fees will be refunded.

Overson Files Senate Candidacy in Local Race

W B Overson of this city announced as candidate for State Senator from the district after a business leaders meeting favored his entry. Overson, longtime Williston resident, is backed by McKenzie and Williston counties supporters and will mount a strong nomination bid. Williston Lodge AOUW No 37 reports a lively meeting and initiates several new members with others to be added at a special session next Wednesday. Ernest J Moore DGM will discuss insurance forms for the order at the hotel and a reception with refreshments will follow.

Will Benefit R. R. Employes From Interstate ruling

The Interstate Commerce Commission ruled that employees on a sixty day leave who remain on the rolls may be given transportation passes. The decision affects nationwide railroad workers and their families. The commission also said the hours of service law applies to electric transit companies in interstate business.

Attempted Robbery at Hedderick & Co Store

A hole was cut in a front window of G. M. Hedderick & Co last Thursday night as would be robbers tried to enter. They fled when night policeman Thomas Henneghan arrived before they could gain access, ending the attempted burglary.
