Garden Valley lit will meet Saturday evening May 28

The literary will meet in Garden Valley Saturday night at 9 p m Williston time. Theodore Goode spoke with W C Francis last Monday. W C Ekeberg and Chris Ellingson plan a trip to Tabor in the Canadian Northwest to visit Ellingson brothers. Emil Pusch and wife hosted neighbors earlier in the week. Last Sunday the valley youths gathered at the Hamilton home for music and singing by local young ladies.

Mr Tracy of Grinnell passed through en route to Williston in a car. Heavy rain hit the county last Wednesday. Nelson beat Truax last Sunday in baseball. D D Wartenbe visited the city last Sunday. Mrs. Carrie Ashwill called on Marian Snook Wednesday. Billy Edge was put to his claim Sunday. Mr. Markson finished planting and returned home Saturday. Bert Scase hunted horses on Sand Creek last week. Mrs. P. G. Head and daughter are noted this week. Frank Shanks and son Don were Sand Creek callers Monday.

Miss Hattie Thornton visited cousins Mr and Mrs R W Burch last Monday. Mrs Burch visited with Mrs Martin last Tuesday. Margret Mitchell dined with Hattie and Oneta Thornton last Wednesday. W P Martin was ill Saturday night and Sunday. The Thornton family hosted several visitors including Mery Clair Ralph and others. May 29 services planned at Paintedwood and Rose Valley school houses.

Frank Buck and wife and daughter Lins visited Anton Lees home last Sunday. Ben Brekke returned to Ray Wednesday after a few days at home. The census taker was seen in the township on Thursday. John Ole Lybeck Andrew J Lee began a Canada trip Thursday to take up land. Neighbors wish them a pleasant journey and safe return. Mrs Ben Brekke and two boys visited the Dahls seeking Halley’s comet no sighting. Ole Russell delivered oats to Anton Lee. Mrs Fred Moline is improving though confined to her room. Superintendent Crane of Jamestown and Judge Carr of the Jamestown board choose Miss Gladys Halliday of Milton and Miss Alice DeVany of Devils Lake as teachers. The Normal notes senior class elections, spring study tours start at five, Halley’s comet talk, May Music Festival seat sales, and the upcoming senior annual The Blizzard in press for June 1. The Normalonians glee club plans a month long tour with the Conservatory string quartette.
