Alcohol Bill Reported By Washington House Subcommittee
The alcohol bill moves to the full Ways and Means Committee after approval by the internal revenue tax removal for technical uses. It exempts denatured domestic alcohol from tax for lighting heating and motor uses and becomes effective three months after passage, with Treasury to handle administration. The bill could cut fuel costs, making alcohol cheaper than kerosene or gasoline, and enables production from any starch containing grain or plant material.
