Mikl Sentenced to Life in Pen for Murder
Frank Mikl, arraigned in Pembina County District Court, pled guilty to the murder of his wife and child and received a life imprisonment sentence with hard labor. The crime occurred on Christmas. previously a jury had recommended 30 years. Mikl broke down and confessed on the plea for sentencing.

Five Years for Changing Labels.
A. D. Rozeboom of Hartley Iowa received a five year penitentiary sentence for grand larceny after pleading guilty to altering butter tub labels and stealing nearly five thousand dollars worth of butter over about three years. Sheriff J G Geister captured him in February and sent him to Fort Madison.

Three Men Arrested After Trunk Theft Incident
A trunk was stolen Saturday near the Saykally Candy Kitchen and Sun day. James Berry John Cook and George Bates gave their names and were arrested. Cook and Bates pled guilty. Berry demanded a trial and was bound over to district court. Bond set at 500. All remain jailed as Judge Goss plans another hearing.
