Electric heat lights Rupert Idaho high school
Rupert Idaho February 28 electricity from a government power house heats the new high school in the Minidoka project. It is said to be the first large building heated entirely by electricity. The system uses twenty 18 kW units with individual controls from the principal’s office. An emergency switch can cut all current. The building also uses electric power for ventilation, lathes, sewing machines, hot water, and student stoves. The project, planned with local electricians and government engineers, costs about 1750 annually to heat, with manpower savings and installation costs lower than coal-based systems.

Editors Granted New Trial In Obscene Literature Case
Grand Forks March 2 Sam Clark editor of Jim Jam Jems and G H Crockard manager, convicted last June of shipping obscene material in violation of federal law, were granted a new trial by the United States circuit court of appeals. The case, argued January 11 in St Louis, involved 25 counts from Fargo grand jury indictments. Trial in 1913 ended with a mixed verdict and new trial denied before the appeal. They face retrial as motions were filed on jury instruction grounds. Clark is en route to New Orleans and Crockard to Chicago.
