Williston Remembered By the Hill Family

Louis Hill announces two gifts to Williston from the Hill family in memory of James J. Hill. A large Empire Builder portrait will join the James Memorial Library, and a great flag staff will rise near the Great Northern station funded by Mrs. James J. Hill. Olson Stevens Couple Marry at Methodist Church

Annie Caroline Olson and Russell Stevens were united in marriage at the Methodist church on Tuesday June 27 with Rev H Styles Harriss officiating. About 20 relatives and friends attended the ceremony. The bride hailed from Alexander and the groom from Marmon.

Store break in nets $16 from Hagen hardware till

Early Monday a break in at Hagen hardware yielded $16 from the till. Night Policeman Jarstad arrested Harry Hammel behind the building. he was given a hearing and bound over. Hammel had just completed a six month bootlegging sentence at Bismarck.

Citizens Farewell To Their Soldiers

Company E with over 50 members and Captain H R Eyana depart by special train to Fort Lincoln. Williston honors the Brown uniformed soldiers with dinners, dances, and a public display, including a flag presentation by the Williston Elks. The 5 by 10 foot flag, delayed, will be forwarded to the Company.

Car Turns Over In Accident On Reservation

Ryder North Carolina June 28 two men Louis Peterson and Frank Kersey were badly injured when their car rolled over twice on the reservation. Peterson was thrown free and suffered a broken collar bone while Kersey endured severe bruising. The crash was caused by a loose steering gear and the men attempted to pull the car from a rut in the road.

North Dakota Regiment Aims for California Deployment

Dispatch from Captain Myans says North Dakota E Company will likely leave Fort Lincoln early next week for southern California via Portland. Twenty recruits for E Company are sought. Another message notes aviation corps volunteers of 21 members. Commissary funds vary from 600 to 1,200 dollars per company to provide comforts beyond government rations. Williston company fund is still being raised. There is nothing too good for the boys who have gone to the front.
