Parcel Shower for Miss Agnes Schwartz Surprise

A number of young ladies hosted a parcel shower for Miss Agnes Schwartz Monday evening at the home of Mrs. H. E. Foley. Guests arrived with parcels and presented gifts to the bride to be. Refreshments were served and the event was a complete surprise.

Saint Peters Sunday School to Attend Midday Service

On Sunday at 11 o clock the St Peters Sunday school children will attend the midday service. Senior scholars join the procession with the choir. Adolph Bessie acts as crucifer and sitsar. The curate publicly examines the children in the Catechism of the Holy Communion. The service is fully choral and follows a fixed order. A store bargain is advertised with value when well promoted.

Williston Defeats Culbertson in Nine to Three Exhibition

In a strong National game exhibition Williston beat Culbertson nine to three. Murphy hit a three bagger with two on to drive in two in the second inning and scored later. Culbertson fought back to two runs in the third and added one in the eighth. Harvey pitched well for Williston and Slette relieved Ike Slette pitched steadily after a rough first.

Local Pair Weds in City Ceremony at Parish

Miss Agnes M. Schwartz and Mr. Albert C. Hopke wed Wednesday morning June 21 at eleven in Rev Father O Neil parish. Attendants Miss Anna Schwartz and W W Miller. The groom is a Poplar Montana hardware merchant. They will visit Minnesota relatives and reside in Poplar after August 10.

Banker C H Ross Dies in Minneapolis

R D Sutherland received a wire Saturday morning announcing the death of C H Ross in Minneapolis. Ross was a member of the Ross and Davidson banking firm and partner in the First Nations Bank of this city. He was a widely known financier in the northwest and the firm owned banks across the region. Mr Sutherland, who lived with the Ross family, was shocked by the sudden news.

United Picnic a Great Sunday School Event

The Sunday school picnic at H. V. Smith farm ten miles north of the city drew about 466 attendees despite hot weather. Wild Rose Pleasant View Palmer Garden Valley and Spring Coulee sent male and mixed quartets. Rev Hollett chaired and spoke. Shade was provided by trees and large canvas covers, and people traveled from miles around to enjoy the day.

School Election Favors Heffer Nan After Tight Vote

In a spirited city election held Tuesday John Heffer Nan won over John Corbett by twelve votes. A total of four hundred fifty four ballots were cast for the single three year term seat.

Martin Borsheim secured the contract to build a fine new residence for N. Botton. The house is planned to cost from 4500 to 5000 dollars, and though not the lowest bid, the selection reflects Borsheim's solid reputation as a contractor.

Sunday School Entertained After Rain Soaked Picnic

The Episcopal Sunday school could not picnic at the grove due to rain. Mrs George Grogan hosted the children at her residence where lemonade supplied by Mr Ben G Whitehead refreshed many thirsty mouths. Parish ladies aided in games and the afternoon was enjoyed by all present.
