Williston Defeats Tagus 10 to 8 In High-Interest League Game

Williston again proved superiority by defeating Tagus 10 to 8 in a season’s best game with the largest attendance of the year. Jackson pitched well, supported by solid fielding. Next Sunday, Williston travels to Ross for a key match with both teams undefeated, as an excursion train is being arranged for a large crowd.

Uncle Sam Wants Bids for Pumping and Turbine Equipment

The Interior Department seeks bids for steam and electric pumps and transmission gear including three pumping stations with centrifugal pumps of 20 and 30 cfs under heads of 30 to 50 ft. Units are driven by steam engines and electric motors totaling 1,200 hp, plus two 300 kW turbine generators and a 1,000 hp unit.

Power boiler plant and accessories with necessary buildings and a three mile transmission line to be built near Williston North Dakota. Bids will be opened at Williston on July 9.

Rail washout disrupts Great Northern line north of Helena

A washout left several miles of track washed out and the Great Northern trains halted between Helena Montana and Leeds North Dakota. Officials say it will take at least 20 days before the Northern Pacific line can resume service.

Great Northern to Build Berthold Branch North and West

Information received in the city indicates that the Great Northern will soon start a branch line from Berthold. The route will run north and west paralleling the Soo to Bowbells, then head west into the county toward Crosby, crossing prime country and possibly diverting traffic from the Soo for towns north of Minot.

Rare Book and Thimble Club Brings Frederick Koch

The Book and Thimble club has arranged for Frederick H. Koch, head of the Oratorical Department at the State University, to present an entertainment in Williston on Friday evening, June 22. Koch, renowned as a monodramatic impersonator, has impressed audiences in Grand Forks and Fargo. Details of the program will be announced in the Graphic next week.

Farmers Excursion to North Dakota Agricultural College

The farmers excursion to the North Dakota Agricultural College will occur around July 6 and 7, date not fixed. G. B. Metzger, appointed by President Worst, will manage the trip for 25 farmers west of Wheelock and 25 from east of Wheelock. Fare is 3 dollars round trip. Apply in writing to Metzger if west of Wheelock.

Williston Concert Band on Street Friday Evening

The Williston Concert Band will present another delightful street concert Friday evening drawing a large crowd. The program includes The Rambler March by Cramling A Boutbern Dream Waltz Lincoln Flying Arrow March by Holamano Indian Maiden Overture by Fulton and Village Belles March by Pacal.

Remodeling contract for Great Northern hotel cafe awarded

D F King of this city won the remodeling contract for the Great Northern hotel. Work began Monday with partitions cleared on the south side to create a single large room. A new front will be installed and the cafe room is planned as one of the state’s best.

Delightful Season Social Party Ends With Praise

Guests enjoyed an unusual exercise followed by a lavish banquet in the dining room. After ample indulgence the attendees departed declaring the event one of the most delightful social gatherings of the season.

Rail Service Disrupted by Northern Pacific Washouts

Heavy rains flood rivers and low lands along the Northern Pacific in Montana washing out several bridges. Trains are being run over the Great Northern due to the damage and disruption.

Pleasant party honors Mrs Bayrell with prizes

AW Pleasant Party Mrs. E. Leonhardy and daughters entertained about thirty ladies Friday afternoon in honor of Mrs. L. D. Bayrell. Sixty three was the amusement for the fore part of the afternoon. The head prize, a gold berry spoon, was won by Mrs. D. King. Mrs. E. C. Carney secured the consolation prize, a china tooth pick holder. After card playing the party adjourned to the sitting room for jar rolling with Mrs. Disney taking a Japanese cup and saucer as prize. Mrs. Mansfield jarred the worst.
