North Dakota land opening to Fort Berthold drawn by lottery

Land seekers mobilize for Fort Berthold opening under 160 acre tract policy. Lottery drawing will assign first choice of farms as 1,000 plus slips compete for plots, with payments of one fifth down and four yearly installments. Nonpayment cancels entry. surplus land reopens at appraised value. Bill allocates funds for school and initial costs, with government reimbursements from land sales. Fort Berthold lies east of the Missouri River with access via Sioux railroad routes to Minot and Bismarck.
