Williston High graduates largest class of 1909 at Gates Opera House
Last Friday night the graduating exercises at Gates Opera House honored Williston High School’s class of 1909, the largest group yet with eleven diplomas. Valedictorian John Harris spoke as Supt. Ellithorpe praised the graduates, while C. C. Mackenroth presented diplomas. The program included Williston Concert Band, Glee Club, and Double Quartette amid class colors and the motto Dig.

Prize Corn Seed Transfers Spark Wisconsin to Omaha
Schollander of Willis ton Experimental farm receives twenty packages of 500 grains each from ten ears that won 5200 dollars in premiums. Prisoner steals from jailer in Cass County case
Fargo North Dakota June 7. Tommy Ryan witness in Goodheart case stole 130 dollars from the jailer's trunk after being locked in a cell. He passed 25 dollars to Edward Simpson the murderer to keep quiet. The missing money was later found sewn in Simpson's trousers.

Washington June 4 Indications point to a new land rush in the northwest with North Dakota as the target Fort Berthold Indian reservation comprising 500 000 acres is to be opened The move is championed by Representative Hanna of Fargo who has introduced a bill to settle the Indian estate and has modeled it on successful openings like Rosebud and other western reservations. The plan calls for land disposal by proclamation under homestead provisions with a commission to classify and appraise the land after allotments are settled.
