Tornadic Storm Hits McLean County With Hail Damage
A July storm in McLean County dropped a young tornado and heavy hail spanning about six miles wide and thirty miles long. Mr. and Mrs. E. H. Foster were caught near Cole Harbor. Mrs. Foster was injured by hail and wind while shielding a buggy. Homes and windows suffered extensive damage as fields appeared disked and grain destroyed. The storm center lay east of the railroad from Garrison to beyond Underwood.

Charged With Serious Crime Near Kenmare
Minot, July 27. Tom Jones, a coal miner from Kenmare, was bound over to the district court by Judge Harland of Stanley on a charge of mayhem. It is alleged he chewed the complainant Peter Streiss’s check during a quarrel at John Rocke’s home four miles west of Kenmare. The incident drew onlookers from Stanley and nearby areas as the case heads to a district court trial.

Cradle Roll Event Highlights Largest North Dakota Roll
Dr Jennie Farrell superintendent hosted a Friday reception for the Cradle Roll babies of the Methodist church with over 80 attendees despite a looming storm. Mrs Hardaway led vocal music and the refreshment committee performed well. The parlor was decorated with flowers and flags. Cradle Roll started sixteen months ago by Dr Farrell now has 112 active of 133 enrolled, the largest in North Dakota. Eight babies were baptized by Rev Hollet.
