Williston Beats Tioga in 12 to 6 Victory

Williston defeated Tioga 12 to 6 on Sunday with Wm Harvey excelling in the box and clear hitting from the home club. Frank Platner of Tioga made a grand stand catch, while E W Jeffries umpired the game. Tagus beat Ross 5 to 3 and remains tied with Williston for first place as two league games remain.

Advertising For Bids On Canals For B Ford Trented Irrigation Project

Washington D C July 20 The secretary of the interior advertises for bids for canals and structures linked to the Buford Trented irrigation project North Dakota The job includes excavating about 410000 cubic yards of earth and supplying labor and material for a pump house or equipment

Bids Sought for New United States Reclamation Plant

The project calls for a power station and structures needing about 140000 feet B M of lumber 2000 cubic yards of concrete and 25000 pounds of structural steel. Interested parties may contact H A Storrs electrical engineer at Williston North Dakota for plant details. Bids open September 11 in Williston.

Work Starts on City Light and Water Plant

Superintendent Shoultz arrived to oversee the city light and water works project in the Morgan interests. A corking foreman Alspatch will manage pipe work as ground is staked for the pump house and excavation begins while ditch work waits for the pipe delivery in about two weeks. The council met and bonds totaling 27000 were signed over to the city treasurer by C C Gowran of Grand Forks. Bids for pump house and settling tank construction are being advertised for and to be let under contract.

Sunday School Scholars Entertained at Home by Mrs Brownson and Miss Leonhardy

Mrs E R Brownson and Miss Alma Leonhardy hosted their Sunday school class gathering at Miss Leonhardy’s home Saturday afternoon from 4 to 6.30. About thirty scholars attended and enjoyed various games and delicious refreshments. The children praised the teachers as the best in the land for the occasion.

Contract Let to New Firm for Yellow Stone Canal Work

The Interior Secretary voided the award to D. H. Freeman & Co of St. Cloud Minnesota for division three main canal at the lower Yellowstone irrigation project spanning North Dakota and Montana. The contract is now awarded to Newman & Hoy of St Paul Minnesota for nine miles of canal and 1,088,800 cubic yards of excavation plus related work.
