Found Dead In Water Near Schafer Creek Fremont Visitor
Frederic Martin of Fremont Ohio was found dead in Sherry Creek near Schafer McKenzie county on July 26 after visiting son John Martin who runs a Schafer hardware store. He walked toward the spring and oat field, crossed shallow water, and his body was recovered face down. He arrived July 18 and was to be shipped to Ohio.

Death Follows Suspected Drowning After Creek Crossing
The body of Mr. Martin was found. Coroner Thomas ruled death from an apoplectic stroke at the creek crossing, not drowning. He died instantly with no water in lungs or stomach. He leaves a wife seven daughters and a son in the east plus a son at Schafer.

Wreck on Sao Injures Two on Davis Road
A freight train wreck on the Sao road near Davis on Thursday evening injured conductor Wm Hartwell and brakeman Weichel. The collision with a cattle on the track damaged five cars. both men were severely hurt but expected to recover.
