A sub committee of Postmaster Campbell Homer Galpin and George Merger seated Charles Vavrik as committeeman from the ward. The report was adopted by the county central committee. Lorimer travels to Chicago with William J. Cooke as political allies maneuver after the setback.

Great Rain Hits Area With Heavy Thunder and Lightning
A severe rainstorm struck Monday night around 1 AM bringing 1.14 inches during the night and 0.87 inches in 20 minutes. Lightning killed two horses on nearby farms, one near McChesney and another at Dave King’s farm in Trenton, while grain losses from wind were reported light as fields recovered. Railroad builds fence along Soo line near Minot
Minot North Dakota July 20 the Soo line is erecting a fence on both sides of the tracks to cut losses from stray horses cattle and other livestock killed by trains. The project runs from Minot to Donnybrook with disputes over right of way due to homesteaders and county road plans. The matter has been referred to Soo general counsel Mr Dyke and is being pursued for an amicable settlement with local officials and farmers acting on behalf of Ward and Renville counties.
