St Paul Business Men Visit Williston July 28
A group of 75 to 100 leading St Paul wholesale merchants and manufacturers will visit Williston on July 28 arriving at 8 a.m. and staying 50 minutes. The trip, organized by the St Paul Association of Commerce, funds booster excursions to strengthen trade ties and fellowship. They travel by special train with Pullman cars and a Minnesota State Band of 23 pieces. plans include a Main Street concert and visits to several Montana and North Dakota towns over two weeks.

Mrs Rowland Acquitted In Murder Trial

Loftus dies after year of illness longtime Equity leader
George 5 Loftus, 48 or 49, sales manager of the Equity Cooperative Exchange, died Sunday night at his sister’s home in St Paul after a long cancer battle. A Wisconsin native and former railroad man, he helped build Equity in North Dakota and will have a Wednesday funeral in his sister’s residence, Equity to oversee services. He leaves a wife, three daughters and a son.

Will Orpet was acquitted of Marion Lambert's murder in Waukegan Illinois after a six week trial. The jury rejected the state’s case that he arranged Marion's death and accepted the defense that she killed herself amid fear of pregnancy. Corn and Alfalfa Picnic a Success
The third annual Williams County Corn and Alfalfa Picnic was held at the Sul-Experiment Station in Williston Township. Guests from nearby areas attended despite a smaller turnout. the event featured Williston band performances, free bus transportation, and a $111 gate receipt with a $200 balance covered by the Williston Commercial Club for the baseball club. An evening dance was postponed twice due to showers and piano delays but the overall program proceeded successfully.

Man Known as George Whall Dies by Suicide in County Jail
George Whall alias Robert Wheeler killed himself in his county jail cell shortly before a morning relocking. He had just shaved after asking for a razor, a noise drew attention, and the sheriff found him dying in the corridor. He was about 30, serving a four and a half month sentence for blind pigging at Ray. A note asked to notify his brother in Canada and to state his name as George Whall. Interment followed in Williston cemetery under Moose Lodge auspices.

Trains Collide Near Todd in Late Morning Crash
A collision occurred near Todd when Great Northern Glacier Park Limited struck the local Williston Glasgow train at Todd siding six miles west of Williston. No deaths or critical injuries. several passengers bruised. Mrs. C. M. Graves of Portland was badly cut after being thrown through a door. Both trains suffered severe damage. crews escaped unhurt as trains were moved to Snowden for separation.
