Messrs Will and Alex Turcott entertained their mother and Rolla kin while Mrs Hagershaw visited Mrs Leonard Logan. A runaway accident near Springbrook left a buggy wrecked but no injuries. The Springbrook band planned a Saturday concert as locals helped with sod breaking and telephone line work.

Local social rounds and revival start in Eden Valley area

Eden Valley residents like Eden Valley Ray Kratzer and John Beehler conducted business near Trenton Wednesday. Will Marsh and family visited Williston. revival meetings began at the Brethren church Saturday night. Several couples and families visited farms, shopped, or attended meetings in Williston and at Kratzer and Davis homes. A telephone meeting for farmers occurred in the schoolhouse Thursday evening.

Pleasant Hill Fourth Of July Gatherings

Mr. and Mrs. Henry Johnson of Avoca spent the Fourth with Mr. and Mrs. Louis Dahl. Ben Brekke returned from Rey and spent the Fourth in Ray with his family. Albert Rostvold of Wild Rose Valley joined the Dahl family for the holiday. Crist Lee and family fished by Little Muddy river and Amy Lee accompanied Crist to Epping for shopping. Kill Nine Horse Buyers In Texas Camp Ambush

Afton New Mexico reports outlaws attacked ten Texas horse buyers near a camp 35 miles west of El Paso. Nine of the traders were killed with one wounded survivor reaching Afton to recount the massacre while the herd was moving 300 head of cattle from New Mexico into Texas.
