Pioneer Resident Bertha Field Dies After Short Illness
Mrs Bertha Olive Dunn Field born Kasota Minnesota January 22 1863 died July 6 1918 at her daughter Mrs Norman Dickeys home after a brief illness from heart failure She married J Charles Field March 8 1885 at Kasota later moving to Williston Where they resided seven children were born four survive Ethel Dickey Elsie Panger Esther Kuboske and Herbert Field The family includes a sister Amelia Deitz of Sherwood Oregon Funeral services were held at the Dickey home conducted by Rev Hitchcock Interment Riverview Cemetery.

Upton accepts invitation to speak at Williams county annual picnic July 13 at the experiment station in Williston. Recommended by Red Cross Secretary Oliver, he offers a fresh line of talk based on firsthand France experience. Curran Wilbur says his Page talk drew praise and raised over three thousand dollars for the Red Cross.

Unskilled Laborers Sought by Post Office in Williston

McCutcheon Sentenced for Burglary in Williston
Jim McCutcheon who tapped the till in the Newman and Gullickson garage at Watford pleaded guilty to burglary in the third degree. Judge Frank Fisk sentenced him in Williston last Friday to serve two and one half years in the state penitentiary. Fargo reports that at least 45 more men will join the army vocational training school at North Dakota Agricultural College next month, bringing total trainees to 210.
