Red Cross committees announce Williston’s largest Fourth of July celebration with a monster Main Street parade to the Fair Grounds, 10 A M start, patriotic concert, speeches by Prof. Blume, free grandstand seating, races including five and ten mile auto events with $150 and $250 prizes, a sham battle, balloon ascent, a ball game between Great Northern R R Men and Traveling Men's, and a bowery dance all to benefit the Williams County Red Cross.

Park Tourists Plan July Visit to Glacier Park
Publicity committee of the Glacier Park Highway association met to plan a tour from Port Arthur to Glacier Park beginning June 5. A motion picture operator will accompany and film cities en route. The trip includes likely 125 miles daily, with sections joining in various cities. arrivals and departures span July dates with a multi-city schedule through Port Arthur Duluth Gr Rapids Bemidji Grand Forks Devils Lake Minot Williston Glasgow Havre and Glacier Park.

Williams County Surpasses Drive Quota in June Campaign
Williams County reports a successful W S S Drive on June 28 raising Williston city’s quota from 48 000 to 50 000 with all towns and ships subscribing their shares. The effort earned praise from state chairman Geo H Hollister of Fargo and Washington headquarters. Helen Hill of Casper Wyoming visited Williston on Monday.

Navy to launch fourteen destroyers on Independence Day
Washington July 1 Fourteen destroyers will be launched from American yards on July 4 These vessels along with a number of Eagle boats will represent the navy's share of tonnage to take the water in celebration of independence day.

Americans Break Through at Vaux on Marne Front
On the Marne front American forces captured the village of Vaux and surrounding terrain, taking 275 German prisoners including five officers. They seized machine guns and other materiel after an intense assault with artillery and air support. The advance opened the way to deeper lines as fighters pressed into houses and streets of Vaux.

Wheat price raised to equalize freight in northwest
President Hoover announces a 3 1/2 cent increase in the government price basis for No 1 Northern Spring and No 1 Durum wheat at Minneapolis from 2.17 to 2.22 12 per bushel to offset higher railroad freight rates.
