Northwest wheat contest aims for $5000 prize award
The North West Development League seeks the best five bushels of wheat from seven states Minnesota North Dakota Montana Idaho Washington and Oregon. Three judges from outside the region will assess on score card milling and baking tests and yield per acre with 100 points for each method. The contest drew four hundred farmers promising strong competition at the Northwestern Products exposition in November.

August Zodrow a prosperous Marmon farmer died at his home on July 3 from heart trouble. He was 64, leaving a wife a son a daughter and one grandson. The son resides in Wadena Minnesota the daughter in Vesilia California the wife and grandson remain in Marmon. Funeral services were held July 6 at two o clock. Mr Zodrow came from Germany locating first in Minnesota before moving to Marmon about seven years ago.
