Number Three Went in Ditch at Ross

A passenger train on the Number Three run derailed about ten o clock on a sharp curve east of Ross after a broken rail. Four cars piled into the ditch with the tender express and mail cars overturned. no serious injuries among the many traveling men and other passengers. Gas lamps were out, preventing fire, and witnesses called it a miracle no one was killed.

Tailor Shop Changes Hands In Local Deal

C. K. Olson, formerly of the Werner Tailor shop, bought the Model Tailor shop from T. Powell in a deal closed late last week. Olson took charge Monday as a first class tailor with years of experience and promises prompt, high quality work. His assistant A. B. Lennen is a skilled cleaner and repairer. Powell moves to Glasgow to start a new location, leaving friends in the city who wish him well.

Theodore Settle to Wed Effie Leonhardy in Hillyard

Theodore Settle travels to Hillyard Washington to marry Miss Effie Leonhardy at the Babcock home this evening. The couple plans a winter trip to Arizona to aid Miss Leonhardy's health and will return to Williston with a warm welcome.

Meeting of School Directors in County Courthouse

The annual meeting of the school directors from the county will be held at the court house on January 23 at 10 30 A M. Superintendent of Public Instruction W L Stockwell will address the meeting. Each district should send at least one delegate.

The Farmers Institute will be held in this city on January 31, presenting programs for farmers and interested citizens. Organizers invite attendance and discussion of agricultural topics and community issues.

The board of county commissioners adjourned Monday evening after seven days in session. Most time was spent considering and passing numerous bills presented at this session.

Senator Hansbro seeks smaller reserves in towns

Washington reports Senator Hansbro proposes amending the law on reserve cities. Current rules require at least 25,000 inhabitants, excluding Dakota Idaho and Wyoming. He suggests allowing reserves in states without 25,000 cities to be kept in towns of 10,000.

School board weighs adding rooms for growing enrollment

The board met Tuesday evening and passed bills then discussed adding space. Plans floated for two or three rooms on the third story, a committee was formed to study costs. Officials said another school house will soon be needed.

The Commercial Club board elected officers for the coming year: Joseph W. Jackson President, John A. Corbett Vice President, W. H. Westergaard Secretary, Byron Lyons Treasurer. A committee including Mayor Wegley, Joseph W. Jackson, E. N. Disney, Sam Boyd and E. M. Atterberry was formed to attend the Missouri River Navigation Congress in Sioux City next Wednesday and Thursday, likely departing Sunday night.
