The Chicago Male Quartet at the army lyceum course Friday evening pleased a large audience with varied selections. Members’ voices shine in solos and quartet work. favored numbers included Brahms Lullaby The Flag Without a Stain and the Sextette From Lucia. Their genial stage presence added to the appeal.
General Frederick Funston commander of the southern department United States Army died suddenly at a San Antonio hotel after dinner. He collapsed in the lobby while talking with friends and was 51. He had led U S forces on the Mexican border and the Pershing expedition, with years of exhausting duty and little rest.
