St Cuthbert Burned in Blizzard Ocean Tragedy
A big steamer St Cuthbert burned off the Nova Scotian coast in a wild blizzard. Fifteen crewmen drowned when a departure boat swamped. thirty seven were rescued by the Cymric, which then stood by and left for Boston. The ship, built in 1904, was owned by the British and Foreign Steamship Co. of Liverpool and lay on a transatlantic route.
