Labor Federation Maps Plan for North Dakota Laws
Organized labor's legislative program was outlined at a Fargo meeting of the North Dakota Federation of Labor. Key item is a workers compensation act by John Andrus of the League for Labor Legislation, proposing a monopolistic state insurance fund to be introduced at the coming session. The act classifies industries and assigns burden to each class, leaving agricultural and domestic labor unprotected. Other approved measures include a minimum wage and hours for women, miners' inspection law, longer polling hours in cities above 3,000, extending closing time to 8 pm, and age limit for newsboys set at 14. Frank Milhellan was named legislative agent. S. S. McDonald will attend in Bismarck.

Williston Likely No Federal Employment Office Elected
Judge A L Butler reports Washington officials oppose establishing a federal employment bureau in Williston at this time. Local efforts, led by the Community Club and business leaders, proposed city building support and a full time office. A government agent would have handled duties for a broader Public Service reserve and Community Labor board, but no further action is known.
