Thomas Wright and Fred Seneschal shipped a three year old buffalo from Scotty Phillips estate in Fort Pierre SD. The 1150 pound dressed animal, part of a herd of 750, was hung at Wright Market on West Broadway and meat sold as hundreds gathered. Orders came from Minot and other towns.

Local cattle men traveled to Sidney Montana last Wednesday for a short horn cattle sale. They toured L C Wingate Farm showing 90 pure breed cattle and an irrigated 880 acre wheat crop. A banquet at the Valley Hotel followed, with talks on pure breed cattle and irrigation success.

Stanley Keltner son of Mr and Mrs W W Keltner died Saturday December 21 at his home from pneumonia after influenza. He was 25, survived by wife Misa Coy and son one, his mother and a brother Allen in France, another brother Elson predeceased him. Foreman at Great Northern railroad, he lived in Williston since 1903. Born June 25, 1892 at Loran Illinois. Funeral Monday at home with Rev O A Myer and Rev E L Hobbs. burial Riverview cemetery. Flowers from many friends and out-of-town attendees Mr and Mrs Tatz and Mrs Dillon of Trenton and Mr and Mrs Sam Montgomery of Scobey Montana attended.

Mrs Leo Kuboske Dies of Flu in Washington
Mrs Leo Kuboske formerly of Williston died at her Wenatchee Washington home after a two week illness from influenza. Death occurred early Monday morning. Mrs Noah Panger sister to Mrs Kuboske is seriously ill with the same disease. They left here last spring. Mr Kuboske was a mechanic in local garages while here.

Fire at the Graphic Building early Thursday morning damaged the boiler room and upper partitions. Smoke and water caused most losses to machines and fixtures on the first to third floors. insurance adjusters will assess repairs while operations resume.Neighboring business owner Mr Kassis at Pool Hall on first floor suffered about 1500 in smoke and water losses. Local fire department received praise for rapid response despite building’s location.

Funds needed to keep Erman armory open
The Home Guard plans a New Year’s Eve dance to raise funds for maintaining the Williston armory through winter. Proceeds beyond expenses will go toward keeping the building open. costs are estimated at $200 monthly for maintenance. Additional dances and events are proposed to boost revenue, with some Williston men urging closing the armory to save money, which members say would cause damage from cold. City commissioners can decide armory status, but no meeting is currently possible. A monthly dance and renting for other uses are planned, with committees formed and a starter sum expected.

Charges Against Hamre Are Untrue
Williston undertaker Hamre was cleared of profiteering charges by the Williams County Council of Defense after an investigation into alleged inflated funeral costs during the influenza epidemic. The council found Hamre’s books in order and cited the workload and harsh conditions as factors in the higher charges. Also noted was the death of Leo W.
