The city expects a north south rail line via Northern Pacific and Great Northern routes extending from Mandan to Williston and into Canada. Completion would make Williston a major distribution and milling hub with new power, factories, a passenger station, spur lines to power works, and expanded irrigation project support.
The Williston city school system reports five hundred pupils as growth surges west of Minot. The brick building erected in 1809 now adds a third floor with a science lab commercial room and grade room. Plans call for a new building next summer to house the expanding high school program serving 65 students and offering four years of college preparatory courses.
The new pool and billiard hall, opened in connection with the Great Northern Hotel, offers clean healthy recreation. Managed by Mr. D. Hapip, it features top quality tables, orderly quiet surroundings, and appeals to men seeking a refined pastime.
