Farm gleaning proves profitable for North Dakota fields

Graphic Farm Bureau presents figures from North Dakota showing gleaning yields exceed costs. Field reports detail raking, loading, and threshing costs, with several fields yielding 16 to 80 bushels per acre and profits up to three to four and a half times the expense. A farm woman and two children also recover grain from straw. The piece urges straw as soil fertility and mulch, and notes new spreaders improve straw distribution.
