Minneapolis police detectives Hayes and Crommey confronted two armed bandits on August 24 near Elliot revenue and Twenty six street. One robber died after firing at the detectives and another escaped. The deceased was Walter Brandt of Fort Madison Iowa. his comrade left without giving details.

CISTERN CAVE IN FATAL NEAR OJATA AND EMERADO
Fred Sohell a 31 year old farmer was killed when a cistern under a recently finished structure collapsed on his farm between Ojata and Emerado North Dakota. His widow and son survive. He relocated two years ago from Aurora Illinois and the body will be sent to Aurora for burial. The death was reported at Grand Forks August 22.

Atlanta reports Train No 88 of the Southern railway derailed four miles north of Suwanee after leaving Atlanta. Fireman Maton Watkins killed, engineer B F Dewberry badly scalded. Cars overturned down a 15 foot embankment. three small boys seen fleeing. Investigation confirms a bolt caused the wreck.
