Harve Hartman returned to Indiana due to family illness and his wife has typhoid fever. John Weaver runs Bert Biggs separator this season and Biggs' baby is sick. Harry Gamberling took possession of the Farmers elevator at Epping.

Threshing Machine Thrashes 300 Acres Fast

The threshing machine visited Sand Creek and quickly threshed over three hundred acres in half a day producing about two hundred bushels of wheat. The piece notes farmers face a bad year despite editorials boasting.

Garden Valley reports visitors from Wild Rose including Mr and Mrs Rostvold and O C Ekeberg. Olaf Hvalton born August 18 and son mentioned. A passerby Guthrie from Stady en route to Williston for final proof. A prairie fire near the eastern valley last Thursday prompted a rapid response. no damage beyond several tons of Leonard VanDeberg hay. The literary society plans a meeting on Saturday August 27 at 8:30 with Rev Hollett continuing his lecture and cake and ice cream served.
